Christine Heenan is an Executive Partner, Executive Operations at Flagship Pioneering. She serves as a partner and advisor to the Flagship CEO on strategic areas and helps set leadership priorities and drive alignment throughout the organization. Christine joined Flagship in 2020 serving for five years as Chief Corporate Affairs Officer building and leading a corporate affairs function responsible for communications, government relations/regulatory affairs, digital and creative strategy, and brand and marketing across Flagship and its ecosystem companies.
Christine previously served as Senior Vice President for Global Policy and Advocacy at The Rockefeller Foundation and as Vice President of Public Affairs and Communications at Harvard University. She is the founder of Clarendon Group, a communications strategy and social impact consulting firm, and has advised clients including the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation, the Whitehead Institute, the Ballmer Group, the Rockefeller Family Office, and other notable organizations, leaders, and philanthropists.
During the Clinton Administration, Christine served in the White House as a Senior Policy Analyst and speechwriter, focused primarily on health care policy, women’s issues, and other areas of domestic policy. She has taught at Brown University and Harvard College and served as a fellow at the Harvard Kennedy School’s Belfer Center and an executive fellow at Harvard Business School. She has directed or helped build award-winning podcasts and documentary films, and serves on the board of the David Rockefeller Fund, the John F. Kennedy Library Foundation, and Resilient Cities Catalyst.
